Windows Galore
These are probably my favorite photos out of all the ones I took for this assignment. I took these when I was downtown with my dad and dog. I really like this building because on one side it has yellow brink and on the other it has limestone. I also really like all the windows and engravings in the stone because it kind of makes it look like European architecture. I do wish that I could have taken out the stoplights in the 3rd photos.
the victorian estate
I also took these photos when I was downtown with my dad and dog. I think that the architecture of this house is really cool an it reminds me of houses from the victorian era. My dad said that it kind of looked like a haunted house though and I agree with him. I wish that I has done some different angles and found better lighting. It was very cold and grey that day, and I feel lile the pictures could have turned out better if I had done it on a sunnier, brighter day.
Ayla
These pictures are of a shop downtown. I don't know what the store sells, but it's called Ayla. I thought the overhang in front of the enterence and the ingravings in the brass arch were really pretty. The resolution of the photos is not the best and neither is the lighting, but there isnt too much that I could do abut that even during the editing process. I also dont like the person in the 2nd photo, but cropping the image moved the overhang too far down.
Bus Stop
These pictures are of the post office downtown. I really like the picture that I made into a blueprint because the building resembles stairs. I also really like the block of windows at the front entrance of the building. I. wish that I could've gotten a straighter photo of the stair like part of the building, but to do so I would've had to stand in the middle of the street. I do think that the pictures turned out quite well, though.
power lines
The blue print picture in this series was actually the first photo that I took during my "downtown photography adventure". I then took pictures of all the other buldings and looped back around town to get different angle of this building. I really like the layout of this bulding and its more modern style. I wish that I could've taken photos of the entire building, but there were stoplights and road signs surrounding it. I do think the shots of just the top of the building are cool, but I think that the third image might be my favorite out of the three.
